Mischa Maisky is deeply disappointed that he cannot visit Tivoli on this occasion, and we hope to welcome him at another time. Meanwhile, we look forward to an evening with Daniel Müller-Schott, who is especially acclaimed for his technical precision and ability to convey deep emotional layers in his music. His playing is both technically impressive and artistically moving, making him one of the leading cellists on the international stage. Johann Sebastian Bach’s six suites each consist of a series of dance movements. Each suite begins with a prelude, followed by a series of stylized Baroque dances such as a gigue, a gavotte, or a sarabande. These dances require both technical skill and interpretive insight, as Bach left nothing more than the notes; there are no markings for bowing or fingering. It is up to the musician to decide. A spectacular evening awaits, taking us through Bach’s intense musical universe, from cheerful dances to melancholic melodies and complex expressions.
