Who’s the greatest—Bach or Beethoven? Verdi or Wagner? Mendelssohn or Mozart? And, most importantly, Hammer or Cilius?
Tivoli Gardens celebrates its 182nd anniversary with a spectacular concert as the two musical titans, Hammer & Cilius, go head-to-head in this special birthday edition of the Music Duel.
Join the fun as the audience gets the final word in settling these eternal musical debates. Hammer and Cilius refuse to give an inch, unleashing razor-sharp wit and fiery passion in a battle of words and music. Bragging rights for the victor will be nothing short of monumental, as the lively presenters duel over a symphony of classical hits drawn from the endless treasure trove of great music.
Expect Denmark’s finest music presenters at the top of their game in this gladiatorial showdown of humour, knowledge, and artistry. It may not be pretty—but there will be a winner, and the audience gets to decide!
The program remains a closely guarded secret until the concert begins, but rest assured, there will be plenty of festive surprises. Among the highlights, we’ll crown the greatest ballet music of all time in this celebratory birthday special.
Mathias Hammer and Frederik Cilius are no strangers to the spotlight—or to each other. Their years of collaboration on television and radio, hosting the beloved weekly program Hammer & Cilius, have made them an iconic duo.
Mathias Hammer, a trained pianist, has become one of Denmark’s most entertaining and insightful presenters, known for his sharp humour and deep knowledge of classical music. Frederik Cilius, a classically trained clarinettist, is a modern Renaissance man whose talents span far beyond music. From comedy to commentary, there seems to be nothing he cannot master.
Don’t miss this unforgettable evening of music, rivalry, and laughter as we celebrate Tivoli’s 182nd anniversary in style!
