Sherry and Flamenco

An imaginative tasting experience where sherry, music and flamenco meet

In Andalusia, they say you can taste the music and listen to the wine—from the bone-dry Fino to the sweet Pedro Ximénez. Now you can experience the mythical sherries of the southern Spanish town of Jerez de la Frontera in harmony with flamenco music.

This performance brings together singer Rasmus Dissing, flamenco dancer Kirstine Hastrup, flamenco guitarist Lasse Garcia, flamenco singer Pedro Garrido “Niño de la Fragua,” and Lucía Aliaño.

Many connoisseurs believe that sherry is an underappreciated and complex wine. Thorbjørn Carl Hjalager will guide you through the tasting, exploring the poetic qualities of each style of sherry.

This event is presented by Flamenco Teatret and Lakelands.

Flamenco Teatret was founded by Kirstine Hastrup, who, despite her Danish roots, has been officially named a Flamenco Ambassador by the city of Jerez de la Frontera.

Lakelands is run by actor and chef Thorbjørn Carl Hjalager, who, after many years in Spain, possesses an extensive knowledge of Spanish cuisine.
