Øyunn X LiveStrings

In November 2023, she released her debut and concept album Aspects on the Danish label Midnight Confessions. It was recorded live at the Munch Museum in Oslo and was originally a multidisciplinary work combining film, performance, and concert. GAFFA called the album a powerful performance and awarded it five stars: "…I’m My Own, which could sound like an early Björk work, is both melodic and aggressively chaotic at the same time."

Since then, Øyunn has been honored with the Tivoli Jazz Award as 'Newcomer of the Year' "…for her genre-breaking and unique voice as a composer, drummer, and vocalist." She also won the 'New Jazz Name of the Year 2024' award at the Danish Music Awards.

The drummer, singer, and rapper has made a lasting impression on her audience with her dynamic grooves, expressive vocals, and personal lyrics about relationships, hope, inner turmoil, belonging, and identity.

LiveStrings was founded in 2011 and most often performs as a string-quartet, but can also be experienced as soloists, duos, trios, and in larger ensembles. The musical director of LiveStrings is the Norwegian musician Live Johansson, who plays the cello.

LiveStrings has experience across a wide range of genres—everything from pop, rock, soul, rap, hip hop, jazz, R&B, just to mention some of them. They have performed with a diverse array of artists from both home and abroad, and in addition to concerts, they also appear in music videos, TV shows, and advertisements, to name just a small part of their work.

All the musicians in LiveStrings are trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, with additional studies from New York, Chicago, London, Berlin, Paris, Cologne, Stockholm, Trondheim, and Zagreb.

For this concert with Øyunn, LiveStrings will form a string-trio (violin, viola, cello).
